Which grade scale does it score against?
Whichever one you pick. 4.5 is the default on the Korean pages — A+ 4.5, A 4.0, B+ 3.5, and no minus grades.
Why does adding a course sometimes change nothing?
Every row needs credits greater than zero — one blank or zero-credit row hides the whole result instead of being skipped. A pass/fail row is different: P earns its credits and NP earns none, but neither carries grade points, so both stay out of the average and only move the earned-credits figure.
