In what order are the discount, coupon, and tax applied?
Percentage discount first, then the coupon comes off that price, then tax is charged on what is left. Because tax lands after the coupon, a coupon lowers the tax as well — a store that taxes the pre-coupon amount will bill you slightly more.
What happens with an oversized coupon or a strange rate?
A discount or tax percentage outside 0–100 stops the page with a message rather than being silently adjusted, and no figures appear until you fix it. The coupon can never drive the price below zero — it is counted only up to the discounted price.
