Frequently asked questions
What does the classification line measure?
Weight in kilograms divided by height in metres squared, and nothing else. Body fat, muscle mass, age, and waist size never enter the number, so a muscular build or an older body can land in a band that does not describe its health.
Why did one kilogram push me into a different band?
The bands switch at exactly 18.5, 25, and 30, and the value is shown to at most one decimal place. A result sitting right on a cutoff can flip with one kilogram or a couple of centimetres, so read borderline numbers as a range rather than a verdict.
